From the UK I hold a higher diploma in design and Media, and a City and Guilds teacher training qualification, approved by NOKUT. Having recently finished a TEFL course with the TEFL Academy I am motivated to get started. Language Power AS is a marvellous opportunity to put into practice some of the more recent educational skills I have developed. I enjoy working with people and welcome an environment that is culturally and educationally stimulating. 2006-2010, I worked in Svalbard where I taught at Longyearbyen School and the Culture School (Kulturskolen). I had a 40% position in teaching art and crafts (knust og håndverk) my specialty was multimedia design for KS3 (trinn9-10), and KS4 (VG1). In addition I worked as a supply teacher for KS3 in English. 2008-2013, I worked 60% for the University Center in Svalbard as a projected based communications consultant. Here I used primarily my Design and Media skills. My knowledge of the English language was an asset. Since moving to Oslo in 2013 I have work as a supply teacher for Øraker Skole and continued to pursue my own interests. Developing my digital know-how and educational skills; taking on private work locally. This has included private tuition in English to high school students (VG1-2). I am interested in taking part time work with flexible hours. I am available during the day between the hours 8.00 – 18.00 and could consider evening work if necessary. I have a rudimental understanding of TOEFL and IELTS, but have not worked as yet with this level. However I have worked closely with BA and Master Students in my role with the University to improve skills in productive English. My strong side is enhancing development through eliciting the learning process within the classroom. To monitor awareness and understanding and help students realise their own goals.
